The Asian Pastry Cup 2024: A Spectacular Event in Singapore

Ladies' Summer Fashion

The theme of the competition, "Ladies' Summer Fashion," challenged the nine teams to showcase their creativity and skills. Within a span of seven hours, they were tasked with creating 16 plated desserts, two large travel cakes, 24 individual travel cakes, six take-away crystal jars, and 24 individual pints. Furthermore, each team had to present two stunning showpieces, one crafted from chocolate and the other from sugar.

6 teams qualified for the Final

The nine teams had to impress a jury of esteemed pastry chefs, including members of the International Organisation Committee: Frédéric Cassel and Marc Rivière, the 2009 Pastry World Cup winner.

After two days of intense competition, Japan, represented by Masanori Hata (chocolate candidate) and Yuji Matoba (sugar candidate), claimed the top spot. Malaysia and Singapore secured the second and third places, respectively.

China, South Korea, and the Philippines, also earned their spots in the Grand Final of the Pastry World Cup, scheduled for January 24th and 25th, 2025, at Sirha Lyon.

A story to be continued

We eagerly anticipate seeing these exceptional teams at the Pastry World Cup in January in Lyon. Given the remarkable level of skill and creativity demonstrated during this selection, the upcoming competition is set to be truly spectacular.
